Instant.

Have you ever stopped to consider that this moment right now, this instant, is all that really exists?

Our awareness is here. This second. Last second is gone. Next second hasn’t come. This very instant.

Right here. This is it.

Are you aware? When you step back and observe this instant, what do you notice?

I notice the snow falling outside the window. I notice my fingers typing these words. I notice my dog snoring quietly beside me. I notice the furnace running. I notice my soft dress. I notice my desk and the items on it. I notice that I am safe and warm. I notice how calm I am. I notice that my thoughts are starting to drift towards how messy my desk is. I notice that I am planning to clean my desk. I notice that I am getting thirsty. I notice that I am thinking that I need to water my plants. I notice remembering the last time I watered my plants. I notice that my thoughts are moving towards how dry my home is. I notice that I am planning to water both myself and my plants. I notice that I am still typing. I notice that I am noticing the passage of time. I notice that I am feeling restless…

I am watching all of this. If I am observing all of these thoughts, emotions and experiences around and within me, then I must not be those thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I am the observer of them. I am witnessing this moment. And this one. And this one, too.

Who am I who is witnessing?

Sit with this idea for a moment, it bends the mind a little.

Be aware of being aware and observe this instant and all it includes.

Right here. This is it. Be here regularly.
